Returning home from the hospital can be a very difficult transition. Not everyone is completely ready to care for themselves immediately upon returning home. Arrangements need to be made for a caregiver or family members to help if available. Responsibilities can be overwhelming. Personal care, meals, new medications, possibly changing bandages, finding transportation to the doctor’s office and possibly physical therapy are important things that need to be done.

Did you know that Medicare will pay for up to 20 days in a rehab facility without any cost or expense to you! The only requirement is that you have been in the hospital for 3 or more days within the past month.

Going to a rehab facility allows you to get stronger and fully recover before going home and taking care of yourself. The extra care you receive in rehab will make it easier for you and your family, allow you a better recovery and decrease the chance that you will get sick again and need to go back to the hospital.
